Time is slipping through my fingers. March has already come and gone but I still want to have some sort of diary I can look back at and reminisce.
Here are a few moments that made March great.
This year we wanted to make sure we were on time for planting and so we found a great local nursery not too far from our house and we where able to find some great plants to bring home. So far we got a Mexican lime tree (or lemon as I know it), a Lantana, some Petunias, a Boxwood of some sort and some other shrubs.
I needed a big pot to plant my Lemon tree on and we had one big enough (for now) but I wanted to paint it to make it look like a terracotta planter. I got a quart of paint from Home Depot, added some baking soda to give it some texture and got to painting. It turned out great and the lemon tree is now sitting happy in it and enjoying the sun.

I also made my first focaccia of the year, and I’m so excited to start making some bread again. Those stretch and folds never not make me happy.

Cooking and baking with LM is honestly a highlight of my day. We’ve been trying different cookie recipes and surprisingly he enjoys preparing them more than eating them. I enjoy both.

And as the weather is warming up (at a very rapid pace I might add) LM already wants to spend so much time in the backyard which was making me late on doing all the cooking and meal prep, so I figured why not do it outside while he plays. Guess what? It was such a nice idea I’m going to continue to do it as long as it is not too hot outside. I recommend it for everyone, while the kids play, you get things done and you get your dose of fresh air, bonus points if you are barefoot for grounding purposes.

LM is going to be 2 soon and you can see how much he has grown not only physically (he’s giant) but also mentally. It was definitely time to start doing some arts & crafts, so I got him a lil’ table from Ikea to make all his crafts. He has already made some painting and stamping Easter theme. I already saved a bunch of ideas on Pinterest for us to try.
We got a bird feeder and having birds come has been so much fun, but I can’t tell if they are being greedy or that’s just how much birds eat. I have filled the feeder and not even 5 days go by and they go through it all. We will have to add bird feed to the weekly budget.
We also started working on the formal living project, which includes wood paneling and even though it is not done yet it already looks better than I imagined. Hopefully it’ll be done in April and hubs can get a well deserved break.
