Wellness podcasts that will change your life

I have been slowly getting addicted to listening to podcasts. I started a few years ago and now it is mostly what I listen to, instead of music. And when I say I’m all over the place, I really am. I listen to history, beauty, wellness, comedy, business and health podcasts and I enjoy every.single.bit. But today we are focusing on the wellness podcasts that I love to listen to. Given that a few years ago I listened a podcast where Alisa Vitti was talking about how painful periods are not normal (note: common but not normal) that literally had me in tears. Having suffered with painful periods all of my teens and most of my 20s, that episode was eye opening. (I explain more about my period in this blog post)

Being that I prefer to be preventative instead of reactive when it comes to my health, I have found them very useful. Honestly, I consider them as crash courses, because they are just that good. I have learned so much about my body that I would’ve probably never known if it weren’t for the experts that have shared their literal life’s work on these episodes. And for that, I am very grateful.

After listening to these, I’m telling you, you will be wanting to reach out for a pen and notepad (hey, I’m old school). You’ll want to write down all the information they give out. Learning about our bodies should be so much more than where our organs are and a vague explanation about how the systems of the body work. And since schools aren’t doing that, it is our responsibility to learn about it some other way, I guess.

my favorite wellness podcasts

Wellness podcast What's the juice

What’s the Juice by Organic Olivia

I am telling you the things that I have learnt from this poddy are amazing. Every episode is a gem. If you are not familiar with Organic Olivia, she is a wellness influencer and has her own line of TCM herbalist products. I don’t really remember when I started following her, but I started to get into her Insta stories when COVID first started back in 2020. She started making research as to how best to approach the virus with herbs/food/supplements when her parents got terribly ill. Shortly after that I discovered her new podcast and omg I was amazed.

Every episode she talks to a different specialist, usually with a holistic/alternative approach. But what I love the most is that the topics are usually about how a specific system or part of your body works and how you can help your body work better with lifestyle changes.

I love that she talks a lot about how TCM channels in the body work, how organs in your body work together and why they are important.

wellness podcast Delicious ways to feel better

Delicious ways to feel better with Ella Mills (Deliciously Ella)

I know now that Deliciously Ella is kind of a big deal, but somehow I missed the memo and I don’t remember how I found her podcast. It was a happy coincidence.

Her approach to health is very similar to they way I like to go about it, so that is one reason I connected so well with her approach. She considers all pillars of life to be important for our overall health and wellness. On every episode she talks to an expert, very similarly to the OO poddy. One topic that she also likes to address constantly in her poddy and approach is the relationships we have with our bodies and others. But she also talks to other specialists on nutrition and health, and every episode is such a wealth of information. Some of the experts she has talked to are published author’s which I have on my list of books to read.

These two have been my favorite wellness podcasts because of how they are full of information without being boring. They are on the longer side (30 min-1 hr,) sometimes I even go back and listen to them again. They give you so many nuggets of information I don’t want to miss any. One thing I have learned, is that every organ and every system in our body is just as important as the next. Our bodies are indeed, the ultimate machine.

Other poddies i want to listen to

I recently started following Dr. Mark Burhenne (@askthedentist) and I have found so much of the information he shares on his Insta super useful. Oral care has not been considered as important, but I have learned that it has a major impact on our overall health. From Hydroxyapatite to mouth taping, Dr. Mark has left me intrigued. He recently started his own podcast and I am here for it!

Dr. Zach Bush is an angel on earth and I always love the information that he has to share. He doesn’t have a podcast but he’s a guest every now and then on other people’s podcasts. I love the way he goes above and beyond with his approach to wellness. He talks a lot about the importance of our connection to nature. He does a lot of free webinars which I always sign up for, but it would be amazing if he started a podcast! I’m telling you the way he speaks just calms me down and gives me hope.

There’s also a new wellness podcast that actually got me excited and that is The Goodness Lover podcast. It feels like it is right up my alley. A lot of the episodes are talking about the gut and the microbiome, which I love learning about. I will definitely be listening to this one very soon!

Now I’m wondering if I should share with you other podcasts that I enjoy listening to. What do you think? It might be fun! And if you have any recommendations, please share them with me, I love finding new gems in the podcast world.
