EASY DIY SUGAR WAX RECIPE WITH ONLY 3 INGREDIENTS

February 3, 2022 in BEAUTY, DIY BEAUTY, SKINCARE

In this new blog post I am sharing a super easy recipe to DIY own sugar wax at home. With simple, natural ingredients.

Why is sugar wax a thing?

Sugar wax is very similar to regular waxing but it has a few key differences. Here’s why it is a much better option:

  • Sugar wax is made with simpler, natural ingredients (at least most of them do, including the recipe that I will share today)
  • It is easier to clean up since it is water soluble. It is also less painful to peel off the skin
  • Because it doesn’t need to be hot when used, there is no risk of getting burned
  • It takes longer for hair to grow back, and in some instances it might never grow back
  • It is super affordable to make at home

As you can see these are great benefits that make it a much better option. Now that we have that out of the way, here’s the recipe.

Ready for the recipe? here you go:

now, how do you use the thing?

Ok, this is not complicated either. The difference between this and regular wax is that you don’t need any cloth to peel it off, you will pull the wax itself instead. You will apply the wax on the opposite direction of hair growth, and then pull it off in the same direction of hair growth.

After making this sugar wax recipe a few times now, I have a few markers that I have to share:

  • The first time you use it it will be a mess. It will take some time to figure out the technique, just be prepared. But the following times you will get the hang of it faster and it will be a lot less messy.
  • Getting it to the right temperature is tricky. If it is too hot it will be too runny and it will be hard to pull all of it in one pull. And if it is too cold, it gets too hard and it is impossible to get it to stick to the skin.
  • I like to use corn starch instead of baby powder and it works really well.
  • Legs and underarms are the only places I have tried waxing, but it can be used in other areas.
  • Since I haven’t figured out a procedure to get it to the right temperature after storing it in the fridge, I have decided I will make half of the recipe from scratch instead. For my sanity.
