Ok so we might have a month or two of sweater weather here in AZ but you won’t here my complaining! I’m not a fan of cold weather, so this works perfect for me. It works best for me because my outfits are not covered by a coat. Even if I’m only going out to the grocery store or taking Lola for a walk these days.
And as you know I have been slowly working on my slow fashion closet/capsule closet. I have been purchasing pieces that work with many outfits and that will last me for a long time. Right now I’m focusing on sweaters. As I’m saving pieces into my digital shopping cart, I thought I could share with you what I’ve been eyeing.
And I’m very happy to say that I have found some that are very affordable, most around the $50 mark, without compromising on sustainability. Some are made with recycled fabrics, deadstock or other sustainable materials. Let’s take a look at what we have here.
NU-IN
Nuin is my latest obsession. A lot of their pieces are not only GORGEOUS but also super affordable. They use a lot of recycled materials, work with ethical factories, and try to carbon offset as much as possible. Every piece on their website tells you where its made, what its made of and how it is packaged.
I have been eyeing their knitwear for a good while now. I’m specially hooked with the Cropped Cardigan and the Cropped Turtleneck, but really everything looks dreamy.
You can check them out here.
THE FOUNDATIONALS
I recently shared a dress of theirs on my Holiday gift guide (you can check it out here.) They are also a new find of mine and have been eyeing literally everything they carry. They have a quick breakdown of what efforts are made in terms of production, materials, emissions, and water savings. I love this.
Their Hatch Sweater looks crazy comfortable and I love the oversize style. I even like the color block option they have and I’m normally not into that, so that says a lot.
You can check their pieces here.
NOBODY’S CHILD
This UK based brand is working on making sustainable fashion accessible for everyone. They work with ethical factories and use sustainable fabrics whenever possible like Lenzing, Repreve, Livaeco, organic cotton and recycled fabrics.
They have a few great options of knitwear. I’m specially liking the Grey Roll Neck Jumper (Note to self, start referring to sweaters as jumpers, sounds way fancier)
You can check their site here.
GO UPWEST
This is a new for me store but I’m so excited! Their prices are very affordable, and even though not all of their garments are totally sustainable, they tell you which ones are and what they are made of. Aside from that they work hard to give back to the community and help a few foundations along the way.
All of their pieces look super comfy and their sweaters are not the exception. I am a lover of long cardigans to chill around the house and they have the cutest Brushed Waffle Cardigan that just looks perfect.
You can check their sustainable pieces here.
TEN TREE
This amazing brand plants 10 trees for every garment sold, plus they make all of them with sustainable materials. Plus, they are a B Corp, meaning they also pay close attention to the factories they work with ensuring ethical labour rights.
Their collection looks super comfortable and their jogger sets look really cool, but the tree stitch crew sweater I feel I could dress up or down, depending on my mood. Plus it is made with 100% organic cotton.

What do you think? Have you heard of this brands before? I am loving how prices are more accessible now, because let’s be real, sometimes no matter how much we want to pay the ethical and fair price, it is just not in our budget to do so (Because we are not getting paid what we are worth either.) So there you go. I hope you like this little sweater compilation and expect many more in the coming New Year. Something to look out for.
