There’s a beauty that the desert has that I just didn’t appreciate before. Now I love everything about it, the sun, the weather, and the vegetation. One other thing I love, is Good Medicine Beauty Lab.
About the brand
I have experimented with a lot of skincare brands but never one like this one. Based on the Southwestern Desert in Utah, Good Medicine Beauty Lab’s Whitney and Karen create their skincare potions by hand. They use harvested wild desert botanicals, while respecting nature and taking only what they need. Many of their formulas were handed down from Whitney’s grandmother, so you know they have to be good.
As if this is not amazing enough, all of their formulas can be blended together. So you can experiment and create your own potion to help with whatever need you have at the time. Also, you feel like a badass desert witch while doing it.
Their collection of products includes multiple cleansers, exfoliators, toners, masks, moisturizers and serums. All of them with no filler ingredients, only good nourishing ingredients. I love the way they set it all up to feel like a ritual every time you use Good Medicine Beauty Lab.
Another thing that I haven’t seen a lot from other brands is the size of their bottles. They wanted to make sure that you could indulge, so their bottles are bigger than standard.

Now I’ll share about a few products that I’ve been using lately, specially at nighttime. I love the feeling of making it a ritual and take some time for myself. Being at home so much is taking a toll this ritual is helping to keep my overall wellbeing.
RAIN Replenishing Oil Cleanser
This is where I start off. This oil cleanser is amazing for melting away makeup and dirt of the day. It smells so luxurious and it is so gentle on your skin but also removes makeup so easily. I have tried it even with super heavy makeup and it doesn’t miss a beat.
I just use a few drops around each eye and then massage it around with my hands, obviously being super gentle on the eye area specially, and then wipe it off with a moist towel and my skin feels so incredibly soft.
You can do a double cleanse if you prefer, going a second time with the oil over your face, but most times I don’t and I haven’t experienced any breakouts.
It is made from an amazing blend of oils like Tamanu, Apricot Kernel, Rosehip, Jojoba, Aloe Vera, Carrot Seed and Rosemary, amongst others.
PURITY Perfectly Clear Tonic
First of all, you have to love these names, I mean how luxurious does tonic sound? Ok, but jokes aside, this tonic feels like I’m splashing water of a mineral well in the middle of the forest. I just feel like my skin takes it and absorbs it so fast and it refreshes it and makes it feel so clean.
I use it immediately after the oil cleanser and instead of going in with a cotton pad, I just pour a little bit in the palm of my hand and then splash it on my face. I hate the fact that the cotton pad absorbs most of it instead of my skin.
It contains ACV and Aloe Vera which are already awesome, but at to that Wild Desert Honey, Trace Minerals, and Dandelion Leaf and omg. I should also mention that this product contains milk, so it is not a vegan product.
HONEY DEW Youth Nectar
This product is a true gem. It feels so rich and my skin feels so plump after I use it, and even though I love to mix it with the Universal Elixir, using by itself is a treat. I could use it like a mask but this product is too precious to use it like that. but if I had an infinite supply of it, I totally would.
I think this has to be one of Good Medicine Beauty Lab’s most indulgent products. It basically does everything for your skin and more. With ingredients like cucumber, grapefruit and lime juice, aloe vera, wild honey and calendula, it is a treat.
I haven’t used it for this yet but I will try this tomorrow but on their website it says that you can use it as a makeup primer and that sounds amazing! I don’t use a primer and I feel like I do need it so this works perfectly.
ELECTRIC SKY Universal Elixir
This is another product that feels so powerful and I feel has benefited my skin a lot. When I wash my face the morning after having used this I can still smell it so I feel like it really stays on my skin to work its magic.
This product has hemp seed oil with activated ozone. I have read a little bit about Activated Oxygen and it basically traps bacteria and pathogens. That makes a lot of sense, specially now.
It has more of a thick consistency but since most of the times I use it along with the Youth nectar, it slides easily across my face. It has a scent that I can’t place but it is not unpleasant, is just different. But the formula feels very rich and I feel like it would work great for any skin type since it doesn’t leave a “greasy” feeling but it is not drying either. Just the perfect balance.
STARRY EYES Brightening Eye Cream
I may have just recently just found the best way to use my eye creams. And that is, going ham on my eyes at night. With eye cream that is. As a final step of my Good Medicine Beauty Lab skincare ritual, I use this eye cream and apply what some might think it is an excessive amount on each eye.
The result, beautiful rested eyes, no puffiness and less fine lines. I don’t suffer a lot of under eye circles but I do have plenty of fine lines on my lower lid that I like to take special care of. I also have some very visible tiny veins that can be very noticeable and this eye cream has just been amazing at targeting both problems.
It is lightweight and I have also found no problem using it during the day to keep my undereye moisturized. And I have found it doesn’t crease my concealer. I might have to retouch it with my finger a little but nothing major.
With ingredients like Algae Extract and COQ10, no wonder why my eyes are loving this eye cream.
