THE PERFECT RED LIP WITH Madame Gabriela, A lipstick review

January 17, 2020 in BEAUTY, MAKEUP

This review comes just in time if you are looking for the perfect Valentine’s day red lip.

Madame Gabriela was founded with the sole purpose of empowering women by creating the perfect clean lipstick. After two years of working to create the perfect formulation, they are now offering three shades, Paris at 7pm, which is the red one that I have and love, New York at 1pm, a delicious hot pink and Sydney at 8am, the perfect nude pink color. It is truly a luxury lipstick and you can definitely tell.

Stay until the end for a little surprise for you!

The ingredients

Now, of course I wouldn’t be talking about this gorgeous lipstick if the ingredients didn’t fit my criteria. But boy did they! Madame Gabriela uses not only super clean ingredients, but also sources them to make sure they are at its purest, and that means that they are also good for your lips. How many times have you applied a lipstick and find it dries your lips and they end up looking wrinkly and dull? It happens to me a lot. Not anymore when I use this lipstick.

And when you see the ingredient list you can see why. These lipsticks are free of phenoxyethanol, synthetic traces of pigments, parabens, sulfates, phtalates, GMO ingredients, talc, glycol and artificial fragrances. Instead, they are made of Manuka honey sourced from farms in New Zealand sent directly to the labs of Madame Gabriela in CA. Plus, add shea butter, a mix of natural oils like sesame, castor and sunflower, plus rosemary leaf, chamomille flowers, ylang ylang, and bergamot extracts. This lipstick is just full of vitamins, antioxidants, enzymes and amino acids, it is the perfect recipe for the perfect pout without any compromises. Also, they are obviously cruelty free and they source their raw ingredients only from ethical trade. How cool is that? It definitely check all my boxes.

As for their dyes, the use mineral pigments in their raw form (with no silicones, parabens, preservatives or other chemical coatings) when possible, but sometimes use low percentages of FDA approved food grade when necessary, and it is of course always noted on the label.

And when I tell you they left nothing to chance, it is for a reason. Even the packaging is eco friendly. Their lipstick tub is beautiful and made of aluminum, and they use low VOC UV and vegetable based inks on their boxes, recycled paperboard and recyclable water base coatings.

PAris at 7pm

Now, talking specifically about the color that I got, which is Paris at 7pm, here are my thoughts. As a super picky color person (what?) I usually have trouble finding a red that is a true red, with no traces of pink, orange, brown or even purple. This red, let me tell you, has made me so happy! By nailing this perfect red, Madame Gabriela made this lipstick to be ideal for any season.

When applying, I always like to use lip balm before any lipstick, and that helps the lipstick to stay put for longer, and since the red is so vibrant, I like to go over with a q-tip once I’m done to make sure all the edges are perfect.

The perfect Red Lip with Madame Gabriela

A very good plus of a red lip is that it instantly elevates any outfit or makeup look. It is a lifesaver when you don’t have time and you still want to look put together. Little to no eye makeup? Throw in a red lip. A lot of makeup? Throw in a red lip. Smokey eye? Red lip. White tee and jeans kind of day? Red lip. LBD? Red lip. See what I’m saying?

So, needless to say, this is a color that I will be wearing a lot from now on. Now, if you haven’t watched my very first YouTube video, watch it below. I created a super simple “French Chic” makeup tutorial using this lipstick.
