I wanted to share with you all a few pictures from my trip to Chantilly. I miss my traveling days so much and I am actually very excited for a couple of trips that I have planned for this month and the next. There are a lot of things that are changing right now, maybe including a move across the country, but we’ll see how that goes. So far, all of our big trips are suspended until new notice. In the meantime, I’ll keep reminiscing about this gorgeous place north of Paris.
This was my first time going to Chantilly and I had only read on other blogs about how to get there. It was actually very easy to get there, and very fast too. You have to take a train from Gare du Nord which is around 8 Euros one way. We decided not to buy the round trip because we wanted to take our time to explore the castle and grounds.
Once you get to the Chantilly train station, you can walk or take a cab to the castle. I personally prefer to walk and that is what we did. It is about a 15 minute walk if you are going fast, but it is so beautiful there, I was stopping to take pictures of my mom in every corner and in front of every house. For privacy reasons, I am not sharing this pictures but they are just as darling as the castle itself.
We got to where the stables are, which I kinda thought was the castle itself, it is such a beautiful building. Turns out, it is also very famous and is featured in paintings since the hippodrome is right next to it.
And of course we had to try the very famous Chantilly cream, there are carts on the outside of the castle that sell waffles with the cream on top. It was a great snack after all the walking, and very delicious as well. You can also try the chantilly cream in a little village that you can visit through a little train that goes around the castle grounds, but we didn’t have enough time to do it all as we got there kind of late.
