SUSTAINABLE SWIMWEAR BY UBU

July 12, 2019 in FASHION, SUSTAINABLE FASHION

. Today I am introducing a new sustainable brand of swimwear, called Ubu. By this point you must already be aware that sustainable fashion is a very important topic for me. It makes me happy that nowadays more people are aware of the importance of it. And that is why I love supporting brands that are working very hard to fight against this current.

Ubu Swimwear is one of those brands considering a great amount of sustainable factors and adopting them in its practice. From the selection of materials, the manufacturing process and even the packaging. All this effort is reflected in the great quality of the pieces.

I was so happy that Ubu agreed to collab with me so that I could share with you how amazing their line of swimwear is. Let me tell you a little bit more about it. They use a luxury Italian fabric made from ECONYL, which is a yarn made entirely of post-consumer materials. You can tell the quality of the fabric just by touching it. I don’t think I have any other piece of clothing that feels as good as this swimsuit. Aside from that, it is chlorine and sun cream and oil resistant and it also has UV protection.

the swimsuit

Now talking about the fit of the swimsuit itself, it is the best! I got the Rhiannon style in black. It is a one piece in a while, and the cut of this one it is just so flattering. I am into showing cleavage or wear thongs to the beach, but I am also not a prude. I usually prefer to show my back rather than my cleavage, and this one has a beautiful back. From the front, it is very different in that you show more of your side boob instead. I was very into it if I’m honest.

It also has great butt coverage, where it is not showing so much, but not too little either. And to finish it up, it comes with a belt for extra chic factor. It is optional so you don’t really have to put it on but it really makes the look imos.

I ordered my suit on the tighter side, and I don’t regret it. It looks quite small before you put it on, but it has a great amount of stretch! I am not very thin waisted but this suit gives me more of an hourglass figure. And aside from all of this wonderful characteristics, it is sooooo comfortable you guys! Like major. I had already worn it for a full 8 hours straight recently, and I felt so comfortable. It hugged my body in all the right places, and not that I care too much about looking perfect, but again, it was really flattering.

other options

Ubu has other one pieces as well as a great variety of bikini styles that you can mix and match. You have options for more or less coverage on both tops and bottoms. And something that is really cool, is that a lot of their pieces are reversible! So you get two different looks in one, which is absolutely genius if you ask me. There is such a good variety that I’m sure you will find something you like.

the brand

Ubu also focuses on having great practices on the manufacturing process. They work with suppliers that share their same values and use recycled and recyclable materials. They even have detailed instructions on their website as to how to care for your pieces. This is so important to ensure the life span of the pieces.

As for the packaging, I am very excited to say that they have nailed it down! I received the package in a biodegradable, reusable packaging pouch with absolutely no plastic. It is all the attention to every detail that really makes Ubu a great brand.

One final and very important aspect, is the pricing. I am very happy to announce that the pricing is extremely reasonable for the quality of the pieces and their sustainability practices. I am sure this swimsuit will look great from summer to summer and will stay a signature piece in my summer closet.
